Are Games Workshop's Lord of the Rings games imbalanced in favor of the Forces of Good? (As one prominent game designer alleges…) |

Depends on the scenario in the Journeybooks. The scenarios tend to support the story plot lines. For example, if good was favored to win in the book, the scenario tends to give good the advantage. As for points games, don't know. I don't play those. |

Often wished Faramir came in a "Slain in Leather Armor" pose. I did find the good side won a lot. There are a lot of times when Good needed a "4" to hit, and evil needed a "5". |

The original 3 books suggest that the scenarios lean slightly towards good and to just switch and play twice. Not sure why this is a poll to be honest, given that the rulebooks are up front about it? |

In one of the books (or maybe a White Dwarf), there was a feature on a massive Pelennor Fields battle at the GW shop. It was loaded with everything and anything. I recall being slightly amazed that the bad side won convincingly. |

What's the problem, you need 200 orcs per man/elf or 100 uruks per man/elf Or if the elf is named legolas? You need 1500 uruks, 5 mamukill. If he got a skateboard up that to 2500 uruks and 15 mamukill |

Given that Good is usually pretty horribly outnumbered the Good heroes are certainly powerful. I had no problem with this, as it encourages things like Gimli and Legolas making a game out of who can kill the most orcs… That said, the standard Good soldiers aren't up for much (rather like the standard Bad soldiers really…) It's a game of heroes, enjoy it for what it is! |

The reason they made uruks was because your standard orc is quite useless and even a sickly old woman can take out 10 of them. And even the uruks are ALMOST as tall as a man. So even they aren't a match for any half trained man. |

When I was active in the game I played a lot of points matches. They were pretty even with the honors. Good tends to have better fighters with better protection and has the best heros. Evil has sheer numbers on its side, a better selection of troops many times, and more elite choices too. Heros tend to be pretty "meh", but are usable and servicable. A solid and balanced evil army played with good tactics will win against nearly any good army. Even Gondor can be beaten with the correct mix of leaders and troops. Still I always would wince when I saw Aragon or Gimili take the field. I knew that I would be in for a hard game! |
