Hi – I am working on a project for Russian campaign. Not super familiar with WG Foundry line. Would like to pick up some WG Foundry French – particularly in firing line poses. Can someone please help me with a product SKU for the French fusiliers, grenadiers and voltigeurs that is in and around that time? For example: FN123? Late French fusiliers in campaign dress firing or FN4? Fusililers in full dress firing Any suggestions on cavalry SKUs and artillery SKUs would be welcomed as well. Thanks for any help |

I'd avoid anything that says Late or Waterloo (1812-1815) French. The literature seems clear that the 1812 Grande Armee was gone before the 1812 Bardin regulations were put in place. |

The pre Bardin uniform Foundry figures are noticeably smaller than the Foundry Russians! |

Guys, I am just wondering if and which SKUs I could use for Borodino and Russian campaign. Which ones are pre-Bardin? Which ones are 1812 and later? I can't tell from the WG Foundry website. |

I just used both pre and post Bardin. The Russians are the main opposition in 1813 and are involved right up until the battle for France. I wouldn't mix Foundry Russians and Foundry 1809 French though. They are both by the Perry's but with a long gap in between. The scale creep is significant. I use Perry French in Bardin and Front rank pre Bardin as the opposition for my Foundry Russians. |

Ther Foundry website usually has fairly good pictures of they models, just have look at them. Very good marching code is FN 80 fusiliers , with seperate backpack, some of the latyr sculpts by the Perry's (also slightly larger figures), also the FN82 command set. In full dress go for the pre bardin uniforms, they have loading and firing figurers. It is true that most troops did not wear the ba |

Bardin type uniform (message accidentalysplit in two) but some of the newer regiments (like the Dutch and German 120 plus) might have received them, also some drafts of new recruits were sent to reinforce the campaigning regiments, they might have had some bardin uniforms already. For artillery the FN 317 is the most generally usable code. Most cavalry will suit the russian campaign. For the chasseurs a cheval I would recommend the FN 279, 280, 281 chasseurs in Kinski coat, they look good and campaigny. As opposed to Firstbrigade, I have no problems "mixing" Foundry French with Foundry Russians as they are two different armies so there is no real mix within a unit. Foundry French versus foundry Russian, look good to me. That being said, the Foundry Russians are some of the beest sculpts made by the Perry's, in my opinion even better than the Russian they released later in their own range. But main advice: look closely at what the Foundry shows on their website, pick what you like, after all it is your army! |
