This came up on G+, so thought I'd clarify it here as well.

When a Firefight turn takes place, no figure is REQUIRED to fire.
It's an optional action.

For example, if a single figure is in sight of three opponents, it may be better to keep your head down to avoid all three of them firing in reaction.

I'll update the files for all versions to make sure it's clearer.

That's how I've always played it. Scurries the same way. That's happened to me more often; I roll a scurry but don't use it with some units because I don't want the enemy to see it and be able to move.

V/R,
Jack

Yeah, it's always been intended that way, but sometimes intentions are not clear :-)

I thought it was compulsory…

Blacksmith – Yeah, I realized now that quite a few people thought so.

It does play fine that way, but I usually don't like forcing a player into a specific action.

And I agree with that. But, what if there is firefight but no one is interested in firing, or a scurry action but none moves?

By the book, you just skip your turn then. Sometimes, it's preferable to just sit tight.

If I am playing solo, I will fudge and roll again but that's technically cheatin's :)

Hehe.
When playing solo I'd prefer everybody moves if scurry or fires if firefight.
Thx
