Being a Battlefront noob….

Are there any other retailers for their 15mm plastic kits or just the flames of war site?

And to anyone who has both. Do you have a preference to one over the other?

I like the cost of the PSC kits, but I don't need 5x of something. Be nice to buy just 1 or 2 at a time.

Thanks

PSC will sell one vehicle at a time. Look for their reinforcement packs. For example:

Hmmm

With the pound they way it is, a battlefront item is the same price as a PSC item

A current excahnge rates and shipping costs, here in the US it works out about the same to buy single PSC sprues from either PSC or stateside from NWS. I tend to order direct from PSC because they also stock Zvezda (also about the same cost as ordering Zvezda from The Warstore).

Yep, you're right

My math was off!

Thanks folks

But if you want 3 of a vehicle, just buy the platoon box.

Later you will want more and then regret that you didn't just stock up at the cheap price.

Which ones are the easiest to put together?

Korvessa21 Oct 2016 8:46 p.m. PST

I have some early war Pz from PSC and some Zveda (or however you spell that)
Very simple to put together

I haven't put many plastics together, but so far I have found Battlefront an easier build. As I say though, this is from a very limited sample. Haven't tried Zvezda at all!

I prefer the zvezda … easiest to put together and cheapest of the lot.

Finished and painted I think they look easily as good.

(Opel Blitz mix: Zvezda – with windscreen removed – between 2 PSCs)

I think they are all good so availability, price and convenience will be the deciding factors.

I too like Zvezda and the detail and price are not bad. And while the tanks are easy to put together their trucks can be fiddly nightmares! Especially, but not limited to, things like the hood on their Russian trucks.

Also note, PSC tanks with one-piece tracks are very easy to put together.

The ones with multi-piece tracks (road-wheel plate + 2 track halves) are a little fiddly to assemble; but those make painting easier. I paint those pieces separately, then scrape contact points and glue together.

Instead of making a new thread….

Do PSC and BF plastic mix well at all?

I have German PSC 15mm infantry and was thinking of getting some US BF plastic infantry and was wondering how they would look on the table? I'm guessing at this scale there wouldn't be much of a difference.

I can only speak to their vehicles. They play very well together though, for some reason, the PSC tank crew figures are smaller than the BF ones.

I could not bring myself to mix PSC T34s with Battlefront SU85s and SU100s. I could easily see a difference in size between the PSC and Battlefront T34 chassis (PSC smaller).

Same goes for PSC Panthers and BF Jagdpanthers.

VERY.. a gamer/modelers dream.

I simply prefer the term Pain In The A!
Im HOPING they have 'upgraded' the US armor sets. The Ger. Pz. IV set I got had the 'one piece' tracks.. could not get easier. The US (late) M4A3 set.. had the 4 multi part tracks. OMG nightmare for me. At 50+, it takes steadier hands than what I have now to match them up just right.

But over all, PSC's 15mm's look great.
