My gaming table for DMH. I'm proud of my home made mat. I glued pigment dust on the boardwalks , low parts of the fences and the houses.

Well done!!

MacSparty21 Oct 2016 9:57 a.m. PST

Very nice. Like it a lot. Do those outhouses have holes in the roof? Talk about ventilation!

The Angry Piper21 Oct 2016 10:38 a.m. PST

Nice! Love the Wanted wall. Is it one manufacturer for the buildings, or a mix of several?

Captain dEwell21 Oct 2016 11:05 a.m. PST

Excellent. I'd love to game on that tabletop. Well done.

Luisito21 Oct 2016 11:23 a.m. PST

Thanks for the nice comments. All buildings are from 4Grounds.

Why does every Old West game have terrain that looks like it is in the Sahara?

Very nicely done! How did you do the mat?

thumbs up

Luisito22 Oct 2016 9:13 a.m. PST

Making the Mat:

I use this tutorial:
link

I added at last coat of caulking, parakeet sand (found in any petshop) Why that? The parakeet sand is very fine and there are little piece of shell and ballast. So thats looks nice .

after drying I paint the basecoat with Home latex paint: I went with Dulux Brown Olive. Then the drybrushing I use a mix of americana paints to get the foundry triad sand. and a final drbrushing with Americana antique white

another tutorial : YouTube link

Okay, hombres, I'm taking odds here – how long before Tango01 reposts this for all of us to see? Seriously! This has been posted here and at LAF and it's only a matter of time. Step right up and place your wagers, the lady in the corset in the corner will be holding all your funds.

Very, very nice! You have some great looking buildings there.

Have your tried using a layout that isn't so straight? I started experimenting with that during my games and found that buildings at angles with a winding road through town make for some interesting movement, and minimize the effectiveness of snipers. ;-)

Can you roll or fold the matt up with no cracking?

Thanks.

Luisito24 Nov 2016 4:47 p.m. PST

Thanks mmitchell. I will try it . nice idea !

John Leahy , Yes I can roll the mat without problem. You have to use good laxex coulking like DAP Alex plus
