After trying out a few games of FiveCore skirmish, it was time to move to where I really wanted to play – FiveCore Company Command. I used 6mm on a small table (20"x30") and solo played a scenario from the excellent Vzyama or Bust (1941 East Front). It was one of the scenarios I did not get to play when I ran a campaign using the book a few years ago. The battle report can be found here:

The AAR got a little out of control and has lots of pictures and text. I did enjoy the game but as I say at the end of the report, Company Command is a step up from skirmish in the diversity of stuff on the table and so I found I was looking at the rules more than I would have thought. A few more games and I can see it will all be embedded in my head. I already have the next scenario from Vzyama or Bust lined up ready to play.

Great AAR! I enjoyed reading it.

Seemed like a really tense back and forth. I've been interested in FiveCore Company Command and this AAR really makes it seem like the rules give a good game!

FiveCore CC is one of my favorite games ever. You'll probably have everything memorized by the end of your next game. :)
