Just read that researchers are suggesting the famous clay soldiers are actually the product of Greek sculptors, or at least based on Greek sculpting techniques. These researchers argue that aside from the tomb, there are no other examples of life-like human sculpture in China from the same time period.

So send your ancient Greeks against your ancient Chinese, 'cause "it could have happened…" wink

In 'The Long Ago' (1978 or so) my Sassanid army included a unit of Chinese heavy cavalry representing a exiled Chinese prince named Mamgo who arrived at the Persian court seeking asylum along with his troops. Haven't thought of him in and his troops in while.
