So two species of elephants where used in war. The now extinct North African Elephant used by Hannibal and leter the ptolomy dynasty. And the so far still alive Indian/Asian Elephant. Apperantly a now extinct sub species of the Asian elephant (syrian) was quite large.

You also have the none wargaming related African Bush Elephant. While not used in war it is the big daddy of them all.
And then the smallest of them all the African forest elephant (might be about the size of the extinct North African Elephant)

Prehistoric ones are a no go. So no mammoths (wolly or otherwise) Even tho I do know a small dwarf species lived in siberia while Egypt built it's pyramids. They still don't count.

The African Bush elephant for sheer power, but the Asian elephant for personality.

And even though they don't count, I really like Dinotherium with the tusks coming out of the lower jaw.

I like whichever species Airfix Zoo Set #2 represented.
I did a ton of conversions with them.

Pink elephants are my favorite, followed by white elephants.
