Any book with US Navy uniforms during the war of 1812, from officers to sailors and marines? |

Enlisted U.S. seamen did not have a uniform, as such, although sailors did have a distinctive style of dress based on what had been found practical for their particular working environment. The Company of Military Historians has produced a number of plates illustrating U.S. naval dress of the period, and some of them appeared in "Military Uniform in America," published in several volumes by Presidio Press in the 1970's. Some of the plates were by the great military illustrator H. Charles McBarron. |

There's some uniform info of the 1812 period in each of the following: The Uniforms of the US Navy by James Tilly and Uniforms of the Sea Services by Robert Rankin |
