Encouraged by Deadhead, I've just uploaded some pics of my figures of Cadogan's Brigade, 2nd Division, Wellington's Peninsular army to Photobucket. There aren't many historical brigades where you can have a Highland battalion, a Scottish light infantry unit and an ordinary line regiment (with the twist of rare black facings) all together. Do take a look. All comments welcome. link |

I simply love these. So glad to see more images of your 71st, faces are really well done. As for the tartan for 92nd…..that yellow stripe……impressive. Not sure I have ever seen black facings modelled before, other than 95th. Very effective. Special praise for the highlighting of the officer's tunic and overalls. Nice to see 60th for change as well. Inspired, I am, now! |

Apparently, the 50th (the "Dirty Half-Hundred") were known for having black facings that ran in the rain, but I've not even attempted to show that. I think it would just look like I can't keep a steady hand. |

Superbly painted figures in very dynamic poses. Well done. Curious though, why there are no King's colours to go with the regimental flags? |

With units of 12, two flags just looked too much. It's an awkward trade-off, I know. Some of my units have a King's colour but no Regimental one. It helps to tell units apart, especially with the commoner facing colours like yellow and buff. My collection began with units of 30+, based for General de Brigade, until it sank in that I'd never have the space to do big battles. Then Blucher came out, and I broke them up and reallocated them. I've got enough now for Wellington's entire Peninsular army. |

Too many pop ups on my phone which is a shame as they look good in the small pics |

Nice job on these, I always wanted to do the 50th, might do these units for Sharp. |

"I've got enough now for Wellington's entire Peninsular army." Now that is quite a throw away line………truly? Wow….you cannot leave it at that. (I like the Line Chasseurs which you have also modified and appear in a different album.) You must photograph and show more of your work. Must! |

At 12 figures per brigade, the whole of Wellington's army, including the Portuguese, comes to only four boxfiles, so it's not that impressive a claim. I still need to do more Portuguese. I've got some converted from Perry British like Gunner Dunbar's, but with a Front Rank occifer. I might move them up the painting schedule now. Also did some dismounted Line Chasseurs a few years ago to go with the mounted conversions – mainly from Perry plastic voltiguers – very much in the style of GD's dismounted dragoons. Might put them up some time, but there's no WiP pictures. Watch this space. |
