In 28mm, does anyone make dragoons for the 7 Years War French volontaire units such as Hainault, Clermont Prince, Flandres, and even the Schomberg dragoons?

These troops wore a helmet, often brass, with upright metal crest, and a "turban" around the helmet held by narrow leather tapes. "A la schomberg" is the term used in French. This helmet has not brim over the eyes, but was the foundation element of the Napoleonic dragoon helmet.

I've used the RAFM Cavalry figure from their Flint & Feather range. It has a bearskin, which is useful for some units; but can be easily carved down to the crested helmet a la Schomberg/Saxe.

Interesting idea. My friend does not care to work on conversions.

Does anyone make French Dragoons from 1775, the period of the AWI? I understand a part of one regiment served in the south – Savannah – during that war. They might serve "in a pinch."

Thanks, Chokidar,

I'll have him take a look.

By the way, Der Alte FRitz and company have produced excellent figures for du Hainault infantry, skirmishing. I cannot find anything on their site about these dragoons.

The RAFM figure is very much "true 25mm".
The size may not be to your taste.

Both Eureka and King's Mountain make AWI dragoons with separate heads. Why not check them out?

I too would also like to have figures if the Belzunce Dragoons from the Savannah campaign.

I'll pass these ideas on. He wants to stick to "Petite Guerre" in the 7YW. The units are certainly more colorful than the basic French!

Believe I've found the figures, by Crann Tara. Their Mounted Fusilier de Morliere Trooper, looks pretty close.
