We played a new home-brewed Federation Commander scenario on Sunday. A flotilla of consular vessels (unarmed Priority Transports) were escorted by two Police Ships and one NCL. Orion Pirates staged a lightning raid intending on capturing at least three of the transports, using two Light Raiders and one Double Raider.
I really love these little guys for some reason.
My pirates need some more custom paint jobs, which I'll get to at some point…. It was a great scenario, and it came down to the last Marine action (the pirates pulled it off in the end). But it wasn't just about the Marine actions either, as some "capture" missions tend to be—the space combat figured greatly into the gameplay. |

That's pretty cool, and a very nice "low firepower" type of scenario that doesn't get played enough. |

True – I've come to appreciate the 'small boy' scenarios. When I was a kid playing SFB with my brother, we'd have run the scenario with 3 Romulan KRs attacking the freighters, which would have been escorted by a Federation Dreadnought or two. Like the miniatures! |

Thanks! Yeah we tend to run small ship scenarios on weeknights and Sunday afternoon to keep the play time around two hours. It's a good way to play test scenarios before spending a whole Saturday playing with cruisers and bigger ships. We were just talking about scaling this up to 2 CLs and a BB or BC vs some variety of heavier orion ships. |

I especially like the Priority Transports! |
