With Michael Fassbender playing the lead role, the lead female one is portrayed by French star Marion Cotillard! She plays the leading scientist of the Animus project at Abstergo Foundation which is dedicated to the "perfection" of humankind and is owned by her father played by Jeremy Irons. Callum's father is, meanwhile, portrayed by Brendan Gleeson. The $200 USD million worth movie adventure is directed by Justin Kurzel who already worked with Fassy and Cotillard together on Macbeth. The premiere of the movie has been pushed four times so far before the movie got its Christmas 2016 opening date. The "Leap of Faith" stunt seen on the poster, in which Callum is jumping into air from a tower wasn't done by special effects but by one of the stuntmen who did a record breaking 125 feet high free fall"

I hadn't seen that production photo before, nice to know some people in this movie bathe and put on clean clothes. I like how the spanish infantry look in this scene. Now for the trouble: when we're not in the emotionless British future, wear are we? They say it takes place "during the Spanish Inquisition" but then they have a city being sacked. Major warfare on the Iberian peninsula was over BEFORE the Inquisition started. They "needed" it to roust out those pesky Reverts and Marronos. Secondly this pre-industial city is COVERED in soot. I know you needed to burn fires for food and light, but the scale needed to darken everything like in this movie wouldn't be seen until London in the 19th century, unless someone was burning down the city. Also, to any Spanish TMPer, are there palm trees in Spain? Thirdly, the guys in black. Originally my friends and I had thought that they would be in a different time period, what with the heater shields and looking like they are battling in the Jerusalem sets from Kingdom of Heaven, but then there's that rather imposing looking fellow on the black horse. As a fantasy fighter he is amazing looking: Brigandine, better fitted mail than his Castillian escorts, black ensemble, turn down boots, a horse with a proper chamfron though questionable looking basrding, a scar, a beard, and a topknot. But this is a time travel movie, so supposedly he is meant to represtent somebody that might logically been in history. Let's take a look. He's darker than the Castillian extra, and has a close cropped beard and smooth black hair. So, he is likely either a Granadine general ( in the Inquisition era?) or a Turkish envoy. But he's wearing BLACK! If he were either of those he should be the brightest looking figure in the picture, if he was a Turk he should have a hat visible from space! Unless he's a Moorish Christian working for the Inquisition and wear black because Inquisition, but that would just be stupid. |

I know its based on a video game and aimed at a much younger demographic group than me but frankly I'm tired of seeing the guys who can jump 30 feet at a bound and who can basically will themselves up walls. |

Some people dont understand fiction when they see it. You worrying about a few historical inaccuracies???? They are tapping into people's ancestors lives through descendants DNA for christs sake. Dont go and see it then, all the more room for me to stretch out at the cinema. I love a good fantasy action flick, I loved the games so I'll watch it. |

It's not that I don't want to watch because of historical inaccuracies, it's that I wish things like this would better represent history due to their media penetration. When movies to this day get massive and simple things wrong, it gives people the wrong idea about things. Though in fairness, I haven't liked the series since the ending of Assassin's Creed 2, and can't fathom why they never did the Seige of Alamut. C'mon people Assassins vs Mongols! It prints money! |

I've talked to a lot of kids who played Assassin's Creed and then went and read up on the actual crusades or Constantinople etc. I think that's pretty cool. |
