As I am trying to do PA on a tight budget, I am looking at the ruins from Finger & Toe: link I was planning to stick the textures onto cork tiles or foamcore, thinking that they would look better than just plain buildings from cork tiles with open windows and doors. Has anyone hands-on experience of these models or have any other suggestions? Thanks, Alan |

Alan: I have a ton of paper terrain. If you want a great deal, I bought a CD that has 150 buildings on it. Many are not suitable for PA but a lot are. There is a futuristic group, a contemporary group, and an abandoned city group. All for $17.99 USD (each building comes in a variety of model RR scales): auction I also have a bunch of Finger & Toe, among others. Skip the foam core, just print them card stock and double it up. Then base on something a tad heavy (vinyl tile works) so they don't slide around. Another thing I use them for is packaging buildings. Take plastic packaging, add greebles and spray paint. Dry brush then add paper details – doors, control panels, exhaust grates etc. etc. I bought a set called, I think, "Starport" that had loads and loads of these kinds of detailing. |

If you really need a stiffener (but shouldn't for that set), try matte board instead of foam core. It's easier to cut and still lightweight. |

Find a free texture image site, like this one textures.com and cut your own ruins from it :) |
