Four more ships for my 1893 project. These are the last four ships in Tryon's squadron:

Front to back: Victoria, Sans Pareil, Colossus and Edgar. Edgar was the only ship to last long enough to fight in WWI. She was in the Aegean squadron keeping an eye on Yavuz in 1918.

Various depictions show the Victorias with and without gangplanks between the bridges. I have decided that Victoria should have them and Sans Pareil should not to help with visual ID on the table. I have also modelled Victoria's fore casemate doors open, as some accounts say they were open at the time of her ramming and greatly contributed to the rapidity in which she sank.

Cool period. Great models!

Brilliant!

Any tips for a novice naval scratch builder?

Very nice. Did you glue down the turrets, or do they rotate?

I can't wait to see the whole-fleet photos. I'm particularly keen to see Inflexible alongside her little sister Colossus.

I took pictures of the entire process of building the Victorias, and I will get that together in the next couple days.

Meanwhile here is an older one on the USS Lexington.

Here is the complete squadron.
That is a 1/700 USS Idaho for scale.

And the turrets do not turn.

Colour me impressed! Those are looking superb. How many ships in total do you plan to build for this project?

Awesome!!

Not sure. Tryon had 11 ships, and I have four French battleships and a cruiser so far. Probably will do the Formidables and 2-3 Caimans, plus 2-3 cruisers, or I may go Franco Italian and build some of those odd Italian ships.

That is just amazing work. I've always had an interest in the pre-dreds, but never had the skills to make more than simple models.

Holy crap!
You've got some mad skills Boss!

Another interesting fact about the HMS Victoria is that divers are going to (or have) recovered Nelson's sword from Admiral Tryon's collection of Nelson memorabilia (located in his cabin).
