Hi all, please have a look at my FiveCore campaign in Port Said. I'm using a virtual table, but I think you'll enjoy my campaign flow and scenarios. The FiveCore Company Command rules gave me tons of ideas and made this super fun.

Ah, so you are playing directly on Google Earth maps?

Very clever! Thanks for sharing!

You're welcome! So now I write AARs if I feel like it, and the action section isn't very detailed, so not so much work.

I've been using Google Earth for my tables for the last year or so. It can be challenging, especially in parts of the earth like Egypt where the photos aren't as detailed as they are in the U.S. That means you can't really get down to the platoon level very well. But it's fun and makes for some pretty tables.

Looks cool! How does the virtual table work?

I've been using PowerPoint for virtual tables for a few years. Just load your map or satellite photo as the slide background and then add tokens (images), ruler (an image), and markers (text boxes). Great thing about PowerPoint is you can attach tiny text boxes to your tokens as labels, which comes in very handy. Also very handy are the comments pane, where I keep all the stats I refer to constantly, and the notes area, where I write all my scenario info and OoB and keep a running ticker of all the action. If I make a mistake, I have all my notes right there so I can go back and make it right. It's pretty outstanding for wargaming.

Wow that's interesting. So you can more easily drag things around in powerpoint?

Sounds like something I need to try soon.

Not sure what you want to compare it to, but it's pretty easy. I've tried Roll20.net and found it much more difficult to work with.

I playtest using paper maps and counters, for ease of setting up. But this sounds even more flexible.

You can save your work, of course. So no fear of kids or pets knocking tokens around.

Josta---I gave this a try myself. Cool! Thanks for sharing the idea.

The second mission AAR is now up. I cut down the scale and used a new CCG-style entry mechanic of my own design. Enjoy.

Third mission up! This one has rebels with a technical and a moving van against state troops with an armored car and a tank!
