I am working on a "sort of bunker" as depicted in the movie "The Devil's Rock" for one of my weird WWII armies. The bunker used in the movie was just plain concrete so I was needing an appropriate concrete base color to add the washes and highlights to (I am using a 6 MM Leven Miniatures Bunker and pieces from his WWI British bunker set).

After deciding I didn't have the needed color in my paint inventory I headed off to the local Hobby Lobby to see what I could find. I had heard of a color called "Mud Stone" by Creamcoat, but my store didn't carry that shade. So I started looking through the four paint makers they carry in the tans and grays sections. And VOILA! There it was – Anita's Thunder Gray 2658. The perfect color in my mind.

This is a nice light gray tone with just a hint of brown to make it truly look like concrete, or at least what I see around middle Tennessee. It also seems to match very well to pictures of the bunker on the Guernsey Islands used in the movie.

Just wanted to share this in case others might be looking for a good concrete color paint.

Too bad you can't get Ceramcoat Mudstone. It is indeed an excellent concrete color.

It is also a good color for unbleached canvas.

I use Raw Linen for that.

I am really happy with the Thunder Gray. They are probably very, very close, just different brands.

I miss the old Floquil colors: 'Concrete' and 'Old Concrete'.

Hedeby, Yes, those were good colors. Same goes for Polly Scale concrete as well. I still have a bottle of the latter, but save it for the undersides of WWI French aircraft in the 4/5 color scheme because it is such a good match.
