I've been learning a lot with painting by the Foundry/Dallimore method, but fingers/digits were giving me fits. With my eyes and the "tremble" in my hands, I just could not get them to look right. Then I thought about a stupid/simple way of doing them and now my troops/tabletop quality figures look a lot better!

Drybrush the little Bleeped texts. I know… stupid and simple and one of those "Why didn't I think of that earlier" moments.

Anyway, here's the blog post with pics so you can see for yourself: link

The Bobbies are examples of Kevin doing it right, which I am nowhere near as talented.

I have no problem painting fingers. When I paint mine are always covered!

I use a wash now on faces and hands. Dark umbar over flesh, followed by a lighter flesh shade dry brush. Wash works for me.

Just turn your paint brush on its side and sweep it over the fingers. Only the top of the fingers receive the paint and the black primer remains in the crevices. Easy and it works.

You can also do a dry brush and wash combo, it will fill in any extra paint in between the fingers from the dry brush.

@Wargamer Blue – I had a feeling everyone had their own technique, but it's one of those little things I hadn't heard anyone talk about. I will try that as well as the dry brushing.

@Chgowig I saw a guy do it on YouTube and I thought to myself, that's so simple. So I tried it and it's so easy.

I sometimes use a finely honed toothpick to apint fingers. I usually use that to paint eyes as well.
