What manufacturers can you recommend for someone who wants to build a couple ACW dioramas? |
79thPA | 12 Oct 2016 6:41 a.m. PST |
How much do you want to spend? All The Kings Men makes relatively inexpensive metal figures. Expeditionary Force makes plastics that are on the high end of the market, while Armies in Plastic makes much cheaper miniatures that have more of a toy soldier look to them. And there is more stuff out there. What are you trying to accomplish? |

Thanks 79thPA – Mostly looking for very high detail. Cost isn't a huge concern because there will be relatively few figures in the display. |

ATKM are really nice figures and Ken is a great guy! link Ed |

You could look at the high end toy soldiers if money is not a factor. John Jenkins Disigns and King and Country have some nice stuff. Thomas Gunn might also have some. Matthew |

Shenandoah Miniatures if you are looking for highly detailed… |

Yeah, Shenandoah has some kits that would fall under the "museum quality" designation -- they also make a few ACW vignette pieces that are worth taking a look at. As 45th mentioned, there is some great pre-painted collector's figs out there as well. |

Conte used to do some prepainted plastic that were reasonably priced. |

Another vote for Shenandoah, if price isn't a problem, they are considered the "Rolls Royce" of ACW figures in 54mm. milminwh.com/shenandoah.htm |

I have a ton of Shenandoahs, that I'll never get to. I would be happy to unload them. PM me if interested. |

And another vote for Conte. Their ACW range is pretty nice. They have some pre-painted metal and/or resin ones for "specialty" sets, and a number of plastic sets. The plastic are very well detained, and would paint up quite nicely. Conte main page: conteco.com Conte ACW stuff link |
