UPDATE for game: -In celebration of Oktoberfest and being that the battle was fought in Austria, I have bought a case of Samuel Adams Octoberfest, Hot and Spicy Bratwurst, Beer Bratwurst, Bavarian style sauerkraut. -As usual if the Russians and allies win they may have a victory celebration of Russian Stolichnaya shot or a Sam Adams Octoberfest. - If the French win they get cold French fries and a Coke… -other normal refreshments as well (chips-including 2 bags of the PrimeRib/Horseradish that Justo bogarted the whole way-really great tasting chips, BBQ chips, loaded Baked Potato chips, chocolates, Coke, Mountain Dew, tea, etc) -game will be convention level in quality! -LOTS of figs in this one. Each side has roughly 1,000 figs. Glad I gave 2 months in between, because it has been epic painting all of the Russians, Austrian cav, French cav, light infantry for all 3, lots of horse artillery, lots of generals. Austerlitz had roughly 75,000 for French and slightly more than 80,000 for the Russian/Austrian -Scenario will be the official Napoleon's Battles Austerlitz scenario. -Brigades are painted as the prominent unit within it (ex. If a unit has the legendary 57th line of 1500 troops and a no-name unit of 1500 troops, it will be painted as the 57th line). -Battle references are the following: Goetz, Robert, 1805 Austerlitz-Napoleon and the Destruction of the 3rd Coalition; Greenhill Books, 2005 Bowden, Scott, Napoleon and Austerlitz, Emperor's Press, 1997 Chandler, David, Austerlitz 1805, Osprey, 1990 Esposito, V.J. and Elting, J.R., A Military History and Atlas of the Napoleonic Wars, Frederick A. Praeger Inc. 1964, 3rd printing, 1968 -Uniform references are the following: Knotel, Richard, Knotel, Herbert, and Sieg, Herbert, Uniforms of the World-A Compendium of Army, Navy, and Air Force Uniforms, 1700-1937; Charles Scribner's Sons, 1980 edition Rousselot, Lucien, Napoleon's Army 1790-1815; Andrea Press, 2012. The universally acknowledged ULTIMATE reference for Napoleonic French uniforms by the official Appointed Painter for the French Army, Lucian Rousselot. Very rare and very expensive. Expect to pay between 150-200… Funcken, Lilliane and Fred, Arms and Uniforms- The Napoleonic Wars Pt 1 and Pt 2; Prentice Hall, 1974 Haythornwaite, Philip, Uniforms of the Napoleonic Wars in colour 1796-1814; Blandford Press, 1973 Haythornwaite, Philip, Uniforms of 1812 Napoleon's Retreat from Moscow; Blandford Press, 1976, 1982 edition. McNab, Chris editor, Armies of the Napoleonic Wars; Osprey, 2009. Pretty much a compilation of all the Napoleonic Osprey books. Good suggestions for including more rules going forward: Optional Rule 12.6 (pg 95) Optional Firing Modifiers for Lines: Firing Modifier for Infantry Units in Line Formation: +1 modifier Firing Modifier for infantry TARGETS in Line Formation: +1 modifier Optional Rule 12.8 (pg 96) Optional Recall Procedure: -the 1st recall has a "-2" modifier as in the standard rules -the 2nd recall has a "-4" response modifier -the 3rd (and final) recall has a "-6" response modifier. If passed a react marker is placed. -The modifiers provided by attached generals (if any) and nationality must be applied too. I am considering giving away a vintage VHS copy of Bondurchuk's legendary Waterloo. Whoever answers correctly the most Napoleonic trivia questions wins. Quiz will be given out at 1030am and must be finished by 11am. Drawing will be held at end of battle or 5pm for those present. Let me have everyone's thoughts. Great event last time and looking forward to this one! |

It is always great to see another Napoleon's Battles fan. Have a great game, I just wish you were based in the UK not the USA. I love the themed food and well done on the painting. |

You've done your research. Sounds like a great game coming up. Almost makes me want to buy airline ticket from Vancouver. Have fun! |

You would certainly be most welcome to fly in. Spare BRs available for out of towners to stay the weekend. Good group to game with and having it here means I can take several days to set up. Not like a con where I have to set up in an hour and also rush and break down in an hour. Feel free to pm me. |

Sounds like a good day's gaming zaevor. I last played Austerlitz with NB about 13 years ago, but I'll be fighting Chosin Reservoir on Saturday, so won't be missing out on gaming at least. |
