Its been a LONG time since I played FOW. Last night a couple of players wandered into my FLGS and I am interested again. Last I played it was 2nd edition. Whats the current edition? Team Yankee looks awesome, last I saw Vietnam was the new thing. Has there been anything else? Any glaring issues in the current systems? Biggest online community? Anything else a returning player needs to know? |

Current edition is 3rd, but 4th is right in the horizon. Nasty rumors have it that 4th will be Team Yankee, but I have no intention of relearning the rules. Cleaning things up a little will be nice, but that's it. |

V4 is coming early to mid 2017 with an initial focus on an North Africa super update. |

I wasted a lot of time & money chasing codex editions playing Warhammer by GW and have vowed never to do it again. I got into FOW 3rd edition & I'm staying there. If your fellow gamers agree, then there's no reason to worry about a new edition looming on the horizon. It's only a concern for tournament players. As long as you play with army books from the same edition, it doesn't matter how they match up. I've been playing early war (which I think is 2nd edition) using 3rd edition rules. |

We had a similar discussion in my group. If all V4 does is "clarify" things like the definition of "breakthrough gun", we will be happy with that. But if it goes Team Yankee changes, we will stay stuck in the mud. We have damn good scenario and campaign games with V3 and have no intention of changing. Heck, I'm still making mental errors thinking of V2. I have nothing against TY, bye. Never played it. I just don't want to change and learn something new. It's too frustrating when the mechanics are 98% similar. It's the 2% that frustrates and makes for bad tempers. |

I have like feelings. Continues changes drove me away from GW I would hate to see that happen again. |

I'm undecided about a V4. The few times I've been able to try Team Yankee give me the impression that it might be too tank centric. I'm much more interested in infantry based fights for WW2 Gaming. I too might be sticking with V3. |

V4 rewrite sounds fantastic if they are going to the TY style of game. I'll get my figures out again. |
