I have started painting up some of my Warring States Chinese I got as part of Watchful I's Kickstarter as a Qi army. More pics: link

That looks like an interesting project. I would contact the manufacturer though and ask them if you can buy figures individually. Explain you are doing forces for Lion rampant and that the unit sizes are 6 and 12. I would be surprised if they wont work with you, especially if you give them permission to use your painted figures to use to show people what they look like when finished.
