Very interesting. I climbed up Burnswark when I was young and fit, wearing a T shirt and shorts, and I was completely knackered. How they did it armour and full kit escapes me.
The 'training' theory was the one I'd heard many years ago. Unfortunately I can't afford to subscribe for the full artricle.
