No idea if this will actually work but looks interesting…basically makes a sort of flexible, semi transparent rubbery material out of inexpensive stuff.

Looks a bit thin. If it were put down more thickly covering the whole of a transparent sheet and then cut into strips for roads rivers etc, it might work…

Maybe I'll try this to make some marshy ground so if the green from table mat shows through it won't be a big deal. Flock around the edges.

It looks like fun to give it a try. You could also push some debris down into it while it is drying (rocks, stumps, etc…). I might give this a go.

Actually, couldn't you lay down an oblong of balsa strips and pour the material into that? Once set you could paint and glue debris on the sides?
I might even try that one myself.
