What is your favorite set of rules for any era, any scale, any amount of troops, etc. It should be a rule set that is your "go to" set.

Check your Six, the air combat game. I enjoy it enough that I dumped the time and energy into making a bunch of adjustable altitude stands.

Ground warfare…probably either Fire and Fury, No Stars in Sight, or my WWII rules.

I've played 10x as many games of DBA as anything else.

But my true favourite might be WAB/WHFB – but none of the other kids play it anymore :(

No Limits, Savage Worlds and FFT.

vtsaogames05 Oct 2016 8:26 p.m. PST

Last couple years it is Bloody Big Battles. Fast, furious, simple and gives credible results.

I really like Crossfire but don't get many games in – some buddies disagree.

I agree with Wackmole9, Warmaster. But Black Powder is really super keen too. They are both the bees knees.

A lot of homebrew.

redbanner414506 Oct 2016 5:47 a.m. PST

I have favorites for various periods, Medieval Warfare, JR3, Fireball Forward, Napoleon's Battles, Check Your 6, but deciding on one just depends on my mood.

Tough one

Fire and Fury, Black Powder, Hail Caesear and a set of home-brew WWII rules are what we mostly use

In terms of current frequency, Black Powder is the one I play the most (i.e. in the last 6 months)

rmaker06 Oct 2016 7:26 a.m. PST

The Sword and the Flame and Strategos N (our house Napoleonic rules).

Weasel06 Oct 2016 7:28 a.m. PST

For something I didn't write, i'll go ahead and say Stargrunt.
Don't think I ever had a bad game of it.

Ceterman06 Oct 2016 7:32 a.m. PST

The Sword and the Flame, CrossFire, Bolt Action, Through the Mud & the Blood. In no real order.

Bismarck06 Oct 2016 7:38 a.m. PST

Sword and the Flame and Disposable Heroes.

Ragbones06 Oct 2016 7:41 a.m. PST

TVAG

p.s. I'd list one of our own rule sets, but that would be too much like crowing, and even OT.

John the Greater06 Oct 2016 11:12 a.m. PST

FoG

But we also play a lot of Fire & Fury and FoGR.
