Has anyone heard anything about Mongoose Publishing.s progress with a new version of victory at sea, their forum seems pretty dead on the matter? Does anybody know if they intend to release anything or if they are quietly abandoning the whole thing.. Rory rorycrabb.wordpress.com |

How many years have we heard that? Last I heard Mongoose tried to sell to Warlord, but the deal fell through. |

Hi David, Were stats for the ships cancelled by the Washington Treaty fever published for the original version of the rules and do you know if they will be covered in the new version? |

I must admit I quite enjoyed VaS – it was my lad's introduction to naval wargaming, so I have a certain fondness for it. We moved on to GQ quite quickly once he got the whole concept of gaming but as an introduction it wasn't half bad. We did refight Denmark Strait and Cape Spada and, to be honest, anything that can get young players hooked is a Good Thing in my view. I think the only thing I really didn't like how turning was handled. Nick |

Regarding Victory at Sea, it so happens I spotted a 'banner' here on TMP just as I signed in and followed it to their website. I have NO idea if they are trying to restart the entire game or simply making some changes to a few issues. The major change, IF they follow up, now you can order the ships individually from the website and are now molded in resin. At present they listed apprx. 15 British / 9 Ger. mini's for the game. NOTE I didnt notice if the site was updated yesterday, or "yester-Year". However, IMHO Mongoose Publishing does NOT have a great rep for following up with 'any' game they have ever been involved in. |

Those ships have been on the site since about 2013-2014, they actually had more available but they removed some since then. Great ships, nice prices but only a handfull and any expansion seems very unlikely. Besides, 3D printing has filled up the vacuum in 1:1800 ships by now. |
