I recently got the two Achtung Girls und Panzer art reference books from Hobby Search link

The text is in Japanese, but the ample illustrations are invaluable for GuP modelling. The first book covers every tank featured in the anime series. Achtung Girls und Panzer 2 covers every tank featured in der Film. There are multiple colour views of each tank. Also quite a few black and white drawings of interior details for fine scale modellers.

If I had these earlier, it would have saved a lot of time doing stop action viewing of the DVDs to capture modelling details. I just put the Company B decals on my Pravda team (blog entry coming soon), and referencing the books made the process so quick and easy!

Looks great and love the pink Lee tank!

Yes, I do a lot of stop action DVD watching too for armies I am working on!

I should have looked for the first art book when I was in Japan last year. I certainly would have found it somewhere in Akihabara.

Yep, both of those books are must haves if you are a GuP fan.

1 yen ~ 1 US penny.

Yeah, the typical exchange rate is ~100JPY to the dollar.

So those books are about $20 USD each.

And quite the bargain — using mine constantly for modelling details, painting colours, and decal placement.

If anyone is even thinking about getting into GuP modelling, just buy these books immediately as your first move!
