I do. I was wondering how many of you in TMPland do too? How much do you spend on yourself? What type wargaming things have you bought?

MajorB02 Oct 2016 10:21 a.m. PST

Yes, I have done.

Frederick Supporting Member of TMP02 Oct 2016 10:32 a.m. PST

Nope

Given the pile 'o lead, there is absolutely no need to

Garand02 Oct 2016 10:51 a.m. PST

No. If I did, then every 2 weeks (approx) would be my birthday… :)

Damon.

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut02 Oct 2016 11:06 a.m. PST

The converation goes like this:

Hatshepsuut: Why don't you buy yourself some toys for your birthday?

Coyotepunc: Well gee, that would be swell! How much can I spend?

Hatshepsuut: How much do you need to finish such and such project?

Coyotepunc: (does quick math in head) About $150 USD?

Hatshepsuut: How about $100 USD?

Coyotepunc: (winds up ordering about $50 USD of miniatures and $25 USD on action figures from ebay.)

Mako1102 Oct 2016 11:25 a.m. PST

Yes.

No one else does, so it's my only logical recourse.

You see that, right?

Texas Jack02 Oct 2016 11:41 a.m. PST

Yep, and for Christmas too. Oh, and Fatherīs Day. thumbs up

peterx Supporting Member of TMP02 Oct 2016 12:12 p.m. PST

Oh, definitely Christmas, and Hanukah.

robert piepenbrink Supporting Member of TMP02 Oct 2016 12:19 p.m. PST

Broke this year, but I used to--at least Christmas and sometimes my birthday. Who else knows exactly what I want?

nickinsomerset02 Oct 2016 12:27 p.m. PST

And Christmas, Easter, first day of the week and any other celebration, last was the Perry Russian Corps deal, super stuff, will need another for Christmas!

Tally Ho!

olicana02 Oct 2016 12:52 p.m. PST

No, but I do tell my wife what I'd like and she sorts everyone out so that their money doesn't get spent on socks – she collects the dosh and then I spend it, and then I thank everyone for their gift saying it's just what I wanted.

Toronto4802 Oct 2016 12:52 p.m. PST

Yes but I never specify which birthday I am buying for

14th NJ Vol02 Oct 2016 1:01 p.m. PST

Personal logo etotheipi Sponsoring Member of TMP02 Oct 2016 1:23 p.m. PST

Nope. None. SWMBO and the kids gets me stuff.

durecell02 Oct 2016 1:49 p.m. PST

I do if I get money for my birthday otherwise I spend my spare money when I feel like it.

Disco Joe02 Oct 2016 2:07 p.m. PST

No.

GarrisonMiniatures02 Oct 2016 2:30 p.m. PST

Have to get something for birthdays and Christmas.

Gonsalvo02 Oct 2016 3:21 p.m. PST

I buy stuff, and unless I "need" it right away, it gopes into the stash for gift giving opportunities – Christmas, Birthday, Father's day etc.

Zeelow02 Oct 2016 4:21 p.m. PST

No. I take myself out to the USAC Sprint Car Races at Perris Valley Speedway!! Yahoo!! Nothing like the smell of burned alcohol in the air and the taste of nachos, chips, and jalapenos.

The Nigerian Lead Minister02 Oct 2016 4:47 p.m. PST

Yes. How else do I get what I really want?

Jamesonsafari02 Oct 2016 5:30 p.m. PST

LAP195402 Oct 2016 7:00 p.m. PST

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP02 Oct 2016 10:57 p.m. PST

As far as I can remember (and I vaguely remember having a much better memory), I have never bought myself miniatures for my birthday. I don't have nearly that much self-control. I just buy them when I want them.

Dynaman878903 Oct 2016 5:40 a.m. PST

Yes, or a new game or both.

Rrobbyrobot03 Oct 2016 7:08 a.m. PST

I sure do.

Frederick the not so great03 Oct 2016 8:31 a.m. PST

Don't forget Three Kings Day!!

whitphoto03 Oct 2016 8:43 a.m. PST

Every day but…

The Beast Rampant03 Oct 2016 12:13 p.m. PST

Most years, yes. And it's usually an excuse to get something tangential. Odd, I just picked out what I think I'll be getting myself this year. I need to start practicing looking surprised when it shows up.

KSmyth03 Oct 2016 1:26 p.m. PST

No, but I do make suggestions. Unless I get birthday cash, of course.

Dave Jackson Supporting Member of TMP03 Oct 2016 3:53 p.m. PST

Not necessarily miniatures, sometimes, depends. Books are a favourite with me. Wine or whisky is always welcome from my wallet….as I let it know closer to the event.

Florida Tory03 Oct 2016 5:51 p.m. PST

Yes.

Rick

COL Scott ret03 Oct 2016 7:54 p.m. PST

I have for Birthdays and Christmas, but not often. The pile needs to go down before I buy more. (just my frugal nature)

snurl103 Oct 2016 9:29 p.m. PST

Yep.

Personal logo Legion 4 Supporting Member of TMP04 Oct 2016 7:55 a.m. PST

If I have $$$$ ? frown

Supercilius Maximus05 Oct 2016 5:30 a.m. PST

No need. I have a very tolerant wife who not only does it for me, but who also has a much better memory than I do, and thus remembers to ask me what I want in plenty of time, too!

14Bore09 Oct 2016 3:28 p.m. PST

Christmas usually
