With the next series of Star Wars movies out/in the hopper, I was discussing No. 1 grandson's favourite characters with him – the stormtroopers – and the question came up; who has the coolest uniform? If you are younger than 45 you will probably like the new look, and if older, then the original stormtrooper. I saw the original Star Wars at the theater when I was 9 years old, and I remember the Stormtroopers were my favorite characters too. In my mind it was a future vision of a medieval knights armor. The helmet looked like it incorporated a gas mask, and the body armor reminded me of motor cross dirt bike protective gear. Don't forget the snow Stormtroopers from Empire Strike Back, and the scout Stormtroopers from Jedi. All cool looks. |

IIRC the design of the helmets changed between Star Wars/Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. I do like the new Force Awakens armour but I'm voting A. |

The Jedi Scout troopers are definitely my favourite "variant". I wonder how many troopers in the original films actually look identical, I've always read that there was considerable variation. |
