Okay, here's a random question: Do any models exist of Space Marines OUT OF their signature armor? If no 'official' ones exists, any suggestions on models that could 'count as'? |

I have never seen or heard of any. As for what miniatures to use… I'd suggest really bulky Romans in togas or some form of habit wearing monk. You could try getting your hands on some cultists in robes and swap the heads for normal ones. That's about all I can suggest. If you are a sculptor, I'd suggest getting a nude, heavily muscled dolly and sculpt on your own romes… then you could leave a shoulder free to expose the black carapace. |

I'm also not aware of any such figures. In the Horus Heresy novels the Astartes are variously described as wearing furs, robes and/or mail when they're not armored up. So maybe some bulky 32mm clean-shaven barbarian type models? |

Ha … they never take their armour off as they maintain a constant readiness for war … |

Yes, I am not sure if you've heard. But in the grim dark future there is ONLY war |

Hmmm, I wonder if there is a market for this sort of thing… |

Find an old Thrud the Barbarian figure. |

Agree with the above – I would suggest a very, very muscular monk There is this take on it YouTube link |

Wasn't there a bit in Legion about Alpha Legionaries wandering around spec ops style with no power armor and with bolters? ISTR this… Damon. |

At one time the old fluff said SMs actually had carapace armor bonded directly to their skin (or in place of it?) so when they weren't in their power armor they wore monk style robes. IIRC the purpose of the carapace wasn't protection, but to hold them together! |

In the original Space Marine novel and also in a few novels during the Horus series, Marines relaxing in their chambers off duty wear robes and what not. Los |

"They shall know no relaxation". I always figured they looked like biomen from Defiance:

Do any models exist? No Possible conversion ideas? Get some of the Chaos Marauders and add ports for the armor connections. Most descriptions have them in monk like robes or simple tunics. |

The black carapace is the final implant a marine gets and it is a substance that is implanted beneath the skin. It hardens and provides a natural link to power armour through various ports: link |

In one of the original BL books, the Drago Trilogy, the space marine when out of power armor wore an elaborate uniform. You are pretty free to decide what you want. Different chapters, different cultures. |

Different chapters, different cultures. Unless you're talking about Space Wolves, in which case they all dress like furries at a fetish-con. |

How about Space Marine Scouts. They are basically a less armored space marine. |

They should be easy enough to pick out of the crowd at the tourist bars. Bad haircut, wearing t-shirts from military courses and covered in scars from surgical implants, as well as three times the size of a average man. |

"Biomen" – such cool aliens and such in Defiance, miss the show. I agree, with probably some tech ports and such for their gear. |
