Hannibal…a barabarian? Well I guess in the strict sense of a barbarian not being Greek.

Calling Hannibal a barbarian is well down the chargesheet.
To sum up Episode 1 on Hannibal. The actual story as told could be stated in a minute. The other 40-odd minutes were actors standing around in fields, or on snowy mountains, talking about life if Carthaginians, or walking around looking menacing if Romans. These decidedly undramatic scenes were punctuated by sound bites from such experts on ancient warfare as Rev Jesse Jackson. I had reckoned the Rev was featured as Hannibal was depicted as a freedom fighter against slavery instead of a thug from an empire that practised human sacrifice fighting for domination of the Mediterranean, however he's also in the second episode.

Haven't watched it…just going by the description I won't.

And it turns out that Hannibal was a black man. At least in this sad little show.

Patrick, I got as far as seeing the Barcids as black and turned off…

I saw the series. It was pure garbage. Mike Adams

I got a third of the way into episode 2 before I could take no more scenes of sullenly-looking Lusitanians sitting in woods.I've deleted the lot from my Sky+ box.
