Apart from Brigade who makes models suitable for Imperial Skies and reasonably compatible inside/scale ? TIA |

I'll be using some Leviathans, separately, with oversized turning gauges, until the KS ones get to Nebraska. You COULD use them with Brigade Models ships, but as true monsters. Some of the old Space 1889 ships wouldn't look too out of place, and are seen from time to time. Likewise a bit of Dystopian Wars. And, like the broken record I am, I'll suggest you can find 1/1200 ship fittings for DIY conversions of model aircraft bombs and rockets, and other plastic 'trash.' Brigade Models offers guns and the like for the same. Doug |

Irregular miniatures irregularminiatures.co.uk has a couple fleets that might fit in if the sizes are close enough for you. (listed under '6mm', 'science fiction and spaceship', at the bottom of the page under 'Heirs of Manacus') |

I might take a punt on the Irregular ones. Any Others that suit the VSF theme ? |

Be aware, the old Space 1889 miniatures are NOT the same scale as either Irregular, Wessex or Brigade aeronefs. Brigade, Wessex, and Irregular are close enough to one and other in scale to be used together. There is someone on Shapeways making miniatures for the Hive Queen and Country rules. Not sure of their scale. If you don't mind doing a bit of customizing the old Houston Ironclads greatendeavours.co.uk/ships can be turned into some nice aeronefs. I did that for German ships as I don't care for the Wessex designs for Germany. |

Be aware, the old Space 1889 miniatures are NOT the same scale… Well, I did say 'some.' ;->= I was particularly thinking of the old Houston/Lyzard's Grin, which ships seemed to fit to me. One problem I have with my scratch builds is fitting out superstructures proper. Your mentioning Houston's lines gave me a glimmer. I've several ships-of-the-sea, but are so handsome, I can't bring myself to alter, but I'm now thinking maybe some Panzership pre-dreadnoughts, if I can find them in the basement, or even some AAM War at Sea figs, chopped, and slid into above described hulls, might work for cheap and cheerful. Heavily discuised with paint, mind you. Thanks for the brain nudge! Doug |

If you decide to scratchbuild or customize be sure to check out Brigade models. They offer various turrets and masts from their Aeronef range which come in handy. While SF, Studio Bergstrom has a bunch of turrets which are generic enough to use on your dreadnoughts too. |

Wait, I said that! ;->= Okay, Brigade Models having parts for DIY DOES stand repeating… Doug |

Talking about scratchbuilding several years back my friends and I were doing a StarBlazers game now StarBlazers if some of you don't know is the classic Japanese Anime Space Cruiser Yamato from the 70's. So as we were playing the game one of my friends asked me if I was going to do anything with this which was a 1/3000th scale South Dakota Battleship. So I said no and thought nothing more about it so an hour or so later he turned that WWII Battleship into a Space Battleship. Now it wasn't(more of less)in the same scale as the StarBlazers minis but it was useable. Since then he's done the same thing to a few others which were: Space Battleship Bismarck Space Carrier Graf Zeppelin Space Carrier Shinano So my thinking is if I have multiples of a certain ship of the sea and I can afford to have one altered to help out my other game then I would do it. |
