Specifically, do you or would you purchase and use support vehicles, such as ammo carriers, tank retrievers/engineering vehicles? I know not many games call for them, so most probably do not worry about having the types in their collection, but I wanted to check popular opinion here abouts. |

I have used bridge layers and supply/ammo carriers. One of my SF armies is oriented around drones. There are no troops on the field except for the crews of the drone launchers and resupply (ammo??) carriers. There are anti personnel, armor, and aircraft drones and some mrls vehicles. The drones are launched by manned vehicles and there are ammo??? carriers to resupply drones to the launch vehicles and missiles to the MRLS. Edit: I should note that the drone army is 6mm not 15. |

I think cool sci-fi transport vehicles would be marketable. You can use them either for convoy scenarios or just for terrain. Engineer vehicles would probably be a bigger niche product. |

As terrain/transport/objective you bet. I probably have 40 or 50 already…. |

They fluff a table nicely. Convoy missions, RPG-lite games as well. On a personal note, I have been looking for an affordable option of a vehicle or vehicles that can transport my battle suits,(Ion Age's Steornede or Khurasan Python), for like, forever. |

No. I would probably convert another vehicle. |

Used this in a game two weeks ago:
Vehicle on the left is a Slammers Wrenchmobile carrying an "engine knackered" Command Car. I lost :( John T |

Would definitely use/buy engineering vehicles, particularly things like the Buffalo MRAP (which has a 30ft robot arm to deal with IEDs):
Would also buy something like the engineer version of a Stryker (major external difference is a dozer blade on the front and usually pulling a trailer) or Badger AEV. |

Yes, I get a few. The company needs a handful of support vehicles. |

In 6mm I have quite a few, including engineer vehicles, trucks and even horse drawn wagons for WW2. In 15mm I have a few because force size tends to be smaller. |

Yes, I have few support vehicles it helps set the stage on the table, and like it was mentioned earlier they are great for transport, terrain or objectives. |

Scenario based games such as recovering a stranded vehicle or convoy attack would use these kind of support vehicles. They wouldn't sell many, but they would sell if they looked good. |

Thanks for the input guys. I have worked up a couple of support versions of the Federation Python/Cobra tracked chassis and was having second thoughts about producing them. I think I will go ahead as the catalog depth always helps, and will do some wheeled versions as well for the Federation troops. The Venturians will get some thing else… |

I love incorporating vehicles like these into any game for all of the above reasons and then some. |

There was a very interesting request a while back on here from Patrick Sexton's group about these sort of vehicles for Slammers rules. These rules ideas were fleshed out to give reasons to have them: link John T |

Engineering vehicles actually have more of a place in skirmish gaming than do heavy artillery, close air support aircraft, or MLRS vehicles. Engineers should be mixed in with maneuver units to breach and clear obstacles, sweep lanes to discover IEDs and mines, and destroy bunkers. Assault bridge vehicles such as the AVLB, Wolverine, and German PZB2 would be utilized to bridge gaps and allow the advance of troops. Not enough gamers have an understanding of combat engineering to properly incorporate them into their tabletop tactics, though. It would help if rules were written in a way that makes the shaping of the battlefield through CE more effective and relevant. That's why my unofficial Iron Cow 2103 supplement included a fair amount of CE rules. link |

I'm with you Jav. A supplement I am writing for Armor in Vietnam for FNG has a lot of recovery and engineering missions, as well as rules for recovery and repair under fire! |

OK, so after a little googling, I have (I think) all the Combat Engineering FMs: FM3-34 Engineer Operations, FM3-34.400 General Engineering, FM3-34.170 Engineer Reconnaissance, FM3-34.22 Engineer Operations BCT and Below, and FM3-34.2 Combined Arms Breaching Operations. Am I missing anything (besides vehicle recovery)? |

YES!… Add in Civilian vehicles of all sorts as well. I find them under represented on a lot od tables, especially in ops surrounding small unit/special operations play. |
