With only 5 weeks to go before "Fall in!", it's that time for me to do some last minute begging and groveling.
For the last 10 years the Wednesday Night Painting Group (WNPG), has been running a charity fund raiser for Toys for Tots. link
This started as a bring your own army mega game at a local game store in northern Virginia and has turned into a two day Miniature Auction and Raffle at "Fall in!". With the help of HMGS and the miniature gaming community we have raised over $40 USDK dollars and several truckloads of new toys for the charity, and more importantly for the children the charity helps each year.
Earlier in the year we sent out miniatures to volunteers to be painted for the auction, and other volunteers have painted some of their own miniatures to donate for the cause.
For anyone who has miniatures that they plan on donating to the auction please contact me at WNPG@hotmail.com or bring them to the convention on Friday morning while we are setting up.
As much as the auction is the highlight of the charity event, the two nightly raffles actually bring in most of the money. Even though we troll the dealers hall and ask (Beg) for items from the very generous vendors, sometimes it just isn't enough. So to that end we are looking for your help to donate items for this year's two raffles.
If you run an online store, brick and mortar store, make miniatures, write rules, or just have a bunch of miniatures/rules/terrain etc. laying around that you are willing to donate please contact me and we will very happily add them to the raffle!!
For any dealer that won't make it to the convention, or even from overseas, we would love to have your donations and we will happily hand out any store flyers, business cards etc. to promote your company and to let people know about your great products and that you are just all around good people who are willing to help out the children.
If you would like to help out in any way, (and we always need help), please PM me here, email me at WNPG@hotmail.com or come see me at the convention.
If you are skeptical, as we know some people are, and that's okay, there are plenty of TMP members who will gladly vouch for the event and the cause.
Thanks again for putting up with all of my posts, but just remember that:
"It's for the Children!!"
