The early origins of domesticated cats are shrouded in mystery, but a new genetic analysis suggests that felines traveled the world with farmers and Vikings…

Cats…easy to catch and not too hard to skin but tricky to cook and when you've done so you wonder why you bothered. Make up into nice gloves though.

Not sure about the tabby mutation only dating back to the Middle Ages. Wildcats show this pattern. I wonder if they actually meant the " calico" or "tortoiseshell" mutation, which does have patches of different colour.
Good to hear that cats travelled with the Vikings!

I love cays. I can never finish a whole one, though.

Cats require very little attention. Startlingly little attention. They eat a lot of pestiferous critters besides mice and rats, and they're very pleasant little friends. I bet we're going to find them more and more throughout history.

Or could it be that Vikings accompanied the cats on their quest to take over the world?

Cats came to Britain probably even before the Romans, and they certainly used them to control non-human pests!

Gunner knows, Kickass Vikings and Cats got the to take them along, the Cats are our complete and total masters we just don't know it, all of mans development is to make our overlords more comfortable and happy, those people who are immune to their control vibe and are disdainful and jocular about them should sleep with one eye open, Cats don't forget.

Zargon and Gunner have the rights of it. Cats dominate the world and we monkey butlers are just along for the ride. I must now away to tend to one of my tiny lords and masters, he hungers.
