"Apocalyptic Alphabet" Topic

This may have begun as an exercise in boredom, but it's an exercise just the same. The challenge: Think of a possible(ish) apocalyptic event for each letter of the alphabet. I have started with a couple of simple, obvious ones just to get things rolling.

A -- Apes: Monkey see, monkey do us in.

Z -- Zombies: What else?

I hope that you will enjoy playing this little game. Speaking of gaming, the best submissions should be inspiration for someone to play on the tabletop; X-ray Emissions are as valid an end-of -the-world scenario as anything else, but fall a bit short in the potential for gaming. This isn't a poll topic, but an attempt at brainstorming fresh ideas for the Post-Apocalyptic genre.
