I've just completed a company of T-34/43s. These are GHQ castings. For your review.

The GHQ models are indeed wonderful. I particularly like how the Russian tanks remodelled in the last 15 years have often included multiple versions of the tank … with T-34s the tanks from different factories had differences in detail that confounded both German intelligence and Soviet supply clercs. It appears you have used the optional cupola to designate your company commander's tank. A reasonable approach. I very much like visual identifiers that help to keep track of command vehicles but don't look out-of-place on the game table. In my own T-34m43s I use the cupolas to designate both company and platoon commanders … every command vehicle gets a cupola. In some of my other Russian armor I use patriotic slogans on the turret sides, or figures projecting from the commander's hatch, to identify command vehicles. I like the shading and the decals. I don't do decals (never was skilled enough at managing the application of decals to make it work well even at larger scales, much less at micro-size). For my WW2 Soviets I choose a greener green … less of an olive and more of a forest green. But there was substantial variation in colors during the war, so it's not a question of "right" vs. "wrong" green. If there was one suggestion I would make, it's … you need MORE T-34s! One company? A good start. Now you need 3 more, or 5 more, or …. (you can never have too many T-34s). -Mark (aka: Mk 1)
