I'm trying to put together a force for the Bolt Action ruleset that includes a Honey Stuart tank from the 8th Hussars of the 4th Light Armoured Brigade. Does anyone have a source for where I could find the various tank markings that they would have on them?

Any help is appreciated

Have you got a day or an engagement?

Looking particularly at the second Battle of El Alamein. I know that the 4th and 8th Hussars were merged together just prior to the battle but that's as much as I've been able to find out.

As far as I can see, it would be the red Jerboa and a white 86 on a red square. Not sure if the white/red/white id on the sides and turrets were still in use.

hope that helps a little.

Helps a little, I thought the brigade insignia went on the tanks too? In the 8th Hussars case it's a black jerboa

Ciaphas, do you have a source for the 86?

I suggest you omit the number in square marking.
If you take a look at pictures, they're often missing.
This could be because they're touched out, but my understanding is they were often omitted.
Here are some links I got from a quick google.

No vertical red on white stripes if your tank is new kit. "Old" honeys with caunter and the red white are possible and would of course mean you can use them earlier.
Personally, I'd go caunter and stripes.
Read up on caunter unless you're a rivet counting desert cam expert.
