I have a big problem. Ebay is currently having tech issues between it and paypal. Japanese buyer sent payment last weekend. a few hours later paypal refunded the payment. Now I can't get him to understand that I did not receive the payment and he thinks I am trying to charge him twice for the items.

Anyone here in that country who can call his on-line shops and speak directly to him and get him to understand?

Today's funniest title!

Banzai!!!

I needed that laugh.

No, we're too busy learning North Korean!

Let him open a paypal dispute and let them sort it out. Relist the item.

I am betting there are more than a few who will meet that will meet that criteria!

Leadjunky22 Sep 2016 6:51 p.m. PST

I would imagine so.

".. too busy learning North Korean".

Hahahaha.

That was funny, too.

I wonder if PayPal actually transferred the money to his account after taking it out of yours. This sort of thing was a major issue with PayPal for years and seemed to have been cleared up after several individuals and states sued them for financial 'irregularities' and damages.

My wife is Japanese, but we are in Australia. The best I could offer is translation for emails or web pages.

napthyme23 Sep 2016 11:56 a.m. PST

I really don't see anything funny about it.

The issue was caused by paypal trying to invoice the customer for customs fees associated with the global shipping program which I am not participating in. when the invoice could not be completed it rejected the payment as an incomplete transaction.

It was the title I was commenting on. I'm of course sorry you're having problems.

Napthyme…ditto, we were making fun of the title of your post, not your plight.

don't use the "shipping programs". It is a swindle to grab people's cash as much as they can. It supposedly go to the customs but truly it is absolutely none of their business to interfere as oversea parcels are not always taxed.

Try and use Google Translate. Include an apology for the bad translation, but tell them you want to make sure they understand the situation.

+1 to what repaint said. I never use it.

I also echo Wyatts comment. Google translate is pretty good, and an additional sentence apologising and explaining if some of it seems strange is always appreciated.

Napthyme, did you get any resolution on this? I live in Japan and speak Japanese, albeit not perfectly.
