"… The game is called "Sauriana" for a reason: dinosaurs have returned in the 19th century, prowling the dangerous wilds of unexplored territory and invariably drawn towards human settlements to prey upon anything that gets in their way. With Sauriana, dinosaurs are an essential element, both aesthetically and gameplay-wise. The first among them is the Laelaps, a 25-foot long predator that we know today as Dryptosaurus. Since Sauriana is a 54mm scale miniatures game, this is a BIG…"

Looking forward to the release of the rules since I'm currently working on some of the Tamiya 1:35 scale dinosaurs.

Huge mistake making this game 54mm. Not sure what they were thinking when they did that. That alone will kill a lot of interest in the game. That said, the setting really interests me and I may pick up the rules to adapt to 28mm.

The company released images of its first dinosaur the other day and… it was not good. Among other things, the sculptor gives it human-like hands with opposable thumbs. Really? Have you never seen any picture of a dinosaur before?

Also, this post should have been crossposted to the Prehistoric thread.

I'd be very interested if was 28mm, but 54 ? I'll pass.

Heck, I'd even suggest 15mm as a good alternative. Since vehicles, dinosaurs, and terrain will be so important…

I played a lot of Gladiator games with the old Alpha Miniatures 54mm figures. Quite a nice scale for games with a bare handful of figures on the table and they were extraordinarily priced.

I do a lot of 40mm gaming, and would love to see this in 40mm.

I think that the combination of the size of 54mm figures and the price point is going to hurt this game in the market place. The first dinosaur is priced at about $50 USD and at 425 each for up to 10 humans in a war band…. $250 USD+ to play a skirmish game just for the figures, and I can't use my existing terrain?

If Dinosaurs did return it would not be long before they would be extinct again.
