"Napoleon Bonaparte's fateful invasion of Russia, known as the Fatherland War, was not only a titanic military clash, but also an espionage duel between Russian and French intelligence. The archives of the Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) reveal a classic true spy story set in Napoleon's Paris, one filled with intrigue, adventure, and stolen secrets.

Alexander I of Russia and Napoleon I of France were the two main protagonists and antipodes of a military-political drama that played out on the battlefields of Europe at the very beginning of the 19th century. Interesting.

Have anyone found any study on Napoleon's intelligence system/service translated into English, apart from some books regarding Fouche? I have been searching for a while, but not come over more than a few short articles.

Bruno Colson's "Napoleon: On War" has a chapter on what Napoleon wrote about intelligence, providing some info, but it is rather light and mostly about combat intelligence. How France's foreign intelligence was organized and worked (if they had one apart from a few spies), is absent. Is there any work in French resembling Sparrow's work "Secret intelligence: British Agents in France . . ."?

Yes I know, I will ask on the Napoleon Series also ….

Judging from the other stuff on that site, this is Russian propaganda. Therefore difficult to say how much there is to this story….
Some parts are probably correct, but one-sided to create a good image of Russian Intel Services.
Wonder who finances it :)
