What Roman figures would be appropriate to use against Attila the Huns European invasion? Oh in 28mm. |

Late Romans; google 28mm Late Roman and you'll find loads of choices; Foundry, Gripping Beast, Footsore, etc. |

Yep. LIR is the way to go. I am fond of Gripping Beast. Foundry has less of the Later Period vibe but the miniatures are quite nice. I think Black Tree has some nice LIR figures too. A little big, they would still match nicely with Gripping Beast. Of course, you will also want a selection of Goths, Franks, Bretonnes and Alans for your allied contingents. |

Yes, by the time the Empire was fighting the Huns a lot of the armies fielded would be paid foederati or barbarian allies. And if your army beats the Huns, there's a good chance the troops raise their general to the purple and march on Rome. Or Milan, or Ravenna or wherever the government is seated at the time. I'm fond of using rented Huns when dealing with German barbarians. |

Check out Simon Macdowall's books on the period. |

Nice collection of late Romans – good idea about shaving off the stirrups. Still have some of Hinchliffe's Huns from over 30 years ago! They hold up well if a little small by today's standards. |
