Big guffaw! nvdoyle you sir are truly an Englishman. But truthfully the Island's would have been totally of lesser being if it had not been for the bravery of ALL our peoples. I'll walk five hundred miles for our brother Scots any day. |

Zargon, you take that right back! Englishman. I'll have you know my family is pure Irish-Dutch-Alsatian! |

He was right, of course. I speak as a Scotchman who moved to England. To be fair, his best friend and Biographer, James Boswell, was a Scotchman, and Dr Johnson did acknowledge that if a man wishes to breakfast well, he must do so in Scotland. Now, thanks to the Act of Union, we get to rule England rather more often than She gets to rule us. Amazingly, there are those of my fellow countryfolk who see this as a Bad Thing. |

Wow, my comment got deleted. I guess I should not disagree with the article. |

Deleting that was lame. It was funny. However, the original context was about Irish soldiers. Try it again but with Irish. It's a symptom of the times. Neither All in the Family nor Blazing Saddles could be made today. PC rules. And that's just sad. |
