As many predicted it looks like Genestealer cults are going to be getting their own codex following the success of Deathwatch: Overkill, as well as their own line of miniatures.
The plan seems to be that they will be released by the end of the year.
From this picture it looks like GW took the criticism some launched about that one new IG AFV to heart and made something similar looking with wheels. If the final product looks like that the end result could be a lot of those in post apocalypse armies of all kinds. It might be awesome to use as an armoured car in Infinity scenarios.
So all hail the Four-Armed Emperor! |

That's more likely an Adeptus Arbites patrol vehicle I would guess. But pretty good news nonetheless. |

It IS good to see GW recognising they have a great mine of older IP which is still great gaming material. I suspect some 'Stealer cultists are going to find their way into my Space Hulk collection. |

I think it is also pretty neat how they have managed to put out these boxed games as starter sets for so much stuff too. Before the boxed game was pretty much only the starter set and if you didn't play one of the two armies in it you were sort of out of luck as far as really good deals on figures were concerned. Now a lot of people played marines and 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th all had generic marines in them if I remember correctly. But with the latest edition they have released the standard set which had Dark Angels and Chaos, then a set with Blood Angels and Tyranids. Now they have a set with Harlequins and Death Watch. On top of that they have released BaC and Deathwatch: Overkill and will be releasing Prospero soon and the figures from Space Hulk could be used for 40K. And all of those have the figures in them for far less than the price of the models differently packaged. |

Good to see these monsters getting the spotlight again for a bit, there are lots of long-unturned stones in the 40K fluff. -Will |

They never should have left but GW put them on the shelf and ran with Nid's instead. |

Ah Mithmee, never one to let any TMP thread about GW go without a negative comment. No, I do not mith you. Glad to see these guys getting a further re-boot beyond the board game. Can the return of the Squats and Zoats be far behind???? Nah!

I have to add that I gave up on 40K and Warhammer a while back due to a combination of being tired of both Codex creep and price increases. However, I did on a lark pick up the recent re-boot of Kill Team (which did come with a mini-40K rule book) and this is the kind of 40K I would like to play again. The Genestealer Cult would be perfect for Kill Team games. So now that I finally have a current edition rule book I have begun to pull out my old armies that have set boxed up for years now and began to reorganize them into Kill Team units. Yea GW hooked me again after all this time. No one forced me to bite. |

Love it. I must say thought that four armed is forewarned. |

but GW put them on the shelf and ran with Nid's instead That is a true statement. Now as for Squats coming back I think you just might have a very long wait. Though Mantic Games does have Forge Fathers that you could use. |

These look great, I'll pick some up for sure. They even have familiars, and painted them purple, hearkening back to the originals. |

Mantic Games Forge Fathers are smaller in scale than G W Squats, also, if they are making them out of the same material they made the dreadball teams, it may be very hard to clean up the mold lines. |

The Forge Father basic troops line was rebooted in hard plastic in their latest KS. Not sure if the specialist troops are still "restic"/PVC. |
Judge Doug | 20 Sep 2016 2:01 p.m. PST |
while way off topic, the new Forge Father Steel Warriors are multipart sprued plastic, as are the Forge Guard. |

Great news! I already cheered when they announced Deathwatch Overkill. Yet, a whole new army of the Cult is simply amazing. And with the new plastic sets, there will be easy conversions for possessed patriarcha and IG traitors. |

They are now available for pre-order: link And they all look great. The metamorph/acolyte pack is especially sweet. I'm glad to see the neophytes are different from the ones in the D:O box. Not that those were killer figures too but it is nice to have some more variety. This is not on my current "to-buy" list with Prospero coming out in November but I'll probably buy some anyway. Perhaps a box of each to use for kill team or games of Infinity. |
