Is there a good source for layout and composition of British brigade boxes in the desert? A map of a typical box and the troops contained would be nice. I assume troops would have been an infantry brigade, but what attachments? Thanks. |

[/URL] Here's a diagram I found in an official history (don't remember the exact name) It's a battalion position. The brigade would have three of these in a mutually protective triangular formation. The minefiled belts of all three would be immediately adjacent. |

Typically the brigade boxes were formed from Brigade Groups, so had a field regiment, AA battery, ATk battery and often a squadron (or more) of I tanks attached. 150 Brigade at Gazala was fairly typical. |
