Yesterday being the anniversary of the start of Market Garden we based a game on the battle.

I like the differently-shaped infantry stands, and an easy way to know where the leader or special weapons might be located within a unit…….was that the intention? If not, still gives some mounting ideas here (especially using a hex-base for some trooper that is different). I put small stones on my squad & platoon leader stands, but using a hex, maybe for the LMG gunner as an idea, could be a good idea for marking with 20mm or smaller scale figures.

Btw, nice-looking setup!

Yes it was intentional, all the British and half the the Germans were mine, all the same type of stands. I got the idea from a mate.

Pistols are on square stands and smg on hexagonal stands for my troops, I think old guy is slightly different

Old Guy was the most proficient with the Bolt Action 1 rules, I had a passable knowledge and our other colleagues had none, so it was a wonderful opportunity to try out the new 2nd edition Bolt action. I was left impressed with the rules and I think the changes do make it better. My biggest gripe is the ranges for rifles. (I know the argument is that the ranges are effective ranges BUT maximum effective rifle range is the same as a Bazooka!!!! I do find that difficult
