Not a fan of the Orc models (never liked the "gorilla style" Orcs, even way back in Gorkamorka) but it is great to see this game will be back on the shelf! Anyone know how or if the rules have changed? Also awesome to hear the cards are back! |

It might give Sam Bradford something to do . :-) |

Interesting. IMO, much, much better than 3rd ed minis (but not as good as 2nd. ) Does anyone know what has changed rules-wise from the living rulebook, or whatever it was called? I'm really surprised the gave into this. Doesn't GW know that for every dollar customers will spend on Blood Bowl, that's fifty dollars they won't be spending on 40K? |

"Blood Bowl is back" I didn't know it had gone away. |
Pictors Studio | 17 Sep 2016 11:17 a.m. PST |
"I'm really surprised the gave into this." GW really seems to be listening and responding to customer demands lately. It is kind of incredible how much stuff is coming out that people have been demanding forever. From BB and other specialist games to Adeptus Custodes and Genestealer Cultist armies and plastic Horus Heresy figures and points for AoS, they have been incredibly responsive to customer interest. I'm not surprised we are seeing Blood Bowl again. |

I can't wait to see the price tag. Gouged Wallet Orks would be more like it. BTW GW is trying to hop onto the board game craze going on right now. They better be careful or Asmodee will buy them up like Asmodee is doing to all the other companies. :-/ |

Will they find some way to make existing additional teams obsolete? Or as in the illustration saying "New Season Kit" do they hope to do it like a real life annual update? |
Winston Smith | 17 Sep 2016 11:47 a.m. PST |
I don't see how they can make existing teams obsolete. Star Players, on the other hand… |
StCrispin | 17 Sep 2016 12:24 p.m. PST |
yay! i love blood bowl. such silly, absurd fun. unfortunately, my group thinks its too long of a game for something so whimsical, and prefers Dread Ball. Hoping the new release gets them back into it. |

I'm surprised it hasn't been ported into the Sigmarverse. |
Mithmee | 17 Sep 2016 6:51 p.m. PST |
GW really seems to be listening and responding to customer demands lately. I feel that is more due to their bottom line and revenues/sales falling. I can't wait to see the price tag. Somewhere in the range of $125 USD – $150. USD So the question is with the Warhammer world dead just how can they play Blood Bowl? |
Pictors Studio | 17 Sep 2016 10:18 p.m. PST |
I guess you better ask the Warlord people how they can play Bolt Action with WWII being over too. Or how they can put out Betrayal At Calth when the Horus Heresy happened 10,000 years before 40K? Or how they can put orcs in the box when they don't actually exist? "I feel that is more due to their bottom line and revenues/sales falling." What difference does that make even if it is true? |
Norrins | 17 Sep 2016 11:51 p.m. PST |
Can't see a release date, anyone know? |
basileus66 | 18 Sep 2016 2:18 a.m. PST |
I feel that is more due to their bottom line and revenues/sales falling And how is that wrong? I mean, I thought that the goal of a CEO and his board is to earn money. If they manage it through re-releasing vintage products with a strong fanbase and that will cause a strong flow of revenues into the company accounts, I would say that is a smart move, wouldn't you? |

"So the question is with the Warhammer world dead just how can they play Blood Bowl?" BB isn't/wasn't set in the Warhammer world. |
Achtung Minen | 18 Sep 2016 4:35 a.m. PST |
@ Beast Rampant, heresy! The 3rd Edition minis were terrific! The "cartoony" look of Kev Adams and others is still what absolutely defined Warhammer for me. To each his own, I guess? |
Winston Smith | 18 Sep 2016 6:45 a.m. PST |
As far as I am aware, Blood Bowl most certainly WAS set in the WFB world. My edition had all kinds of maps! Bringing a game just out because they think there's money to be made? Shocking! Wait until their shareholders hear about this! TMP certainly has a strange crew of anti capitalists. Apparently, profit should be the furthest thing from a gaming company's mind. |
Winston Smith | 18 Sep 2016 6:47 a.m. PST |
And with World War 2, and tanks and planes and all that, how can one possibly play Napoleonics, or Carthaginians? |
miniMo | 18 Sep 2016 4:25 p.m. PST |
3rd Ed. minis sadly looked like they had wandered straight off a WFB battlefield. 2nd Ed. minis rule! |
The Beast Rampant | 18 Sep 2016 8:25 p.m. PST |
Yes, that was my main beef with them. 3rd worked way to hard to jam WFB unit types into BB team positions, which is maybe missing the point. And does GW want me to just saw off my WFB mins weapons and shield bosses and be good to go for football? ASTROGRANITE RULES! |
Winston Smith | 19 Sep 2016 5:23 a.m. PST |
3rd minus sadly looked like they had wandered straight off a WFB battlefield. 2nd Ed. minis rule! Top of the list had to be the appalling Assyrian Chaos Dwarf minis. Terrible design. |
Achtung Minen | 19 Sep 2016 10:42 a.m. PST |
Wow, I thought the Chaos Dwarfs were some of the best of them (I also really loved the Orc, Chaos and Undead teams). The Bull Centaur was particularly cool. I guess there is no accounting for taste? I still remember a Warhammer Quest adventure that involved an ex-Blood Bowler. Kind of a cool way to tie everything together. Ahh, that is when GW still knew how to have fun with their settings and keep it all firmly tongue-in-cheek… I probably won't pick up the new Blood Bowl (my old set is in perfect condition), but I am happy to know a new generation will get a crack at the game. Good for GW on this one. |
Mithmee | 19 Sep 2016 1:21 p.m. PST |
I would say that is a smart move, wouldn't you? Depends since will this just be a very quick cash grab or will they be supporting it for the next 5-6 years or more? Their track record over the last 16 or so years has been quick cash grab – I.E. put out the game and then little to no support afterwards. Plus they are not only company that is making Fantasy Football teams now since they stop making them many years ago. I only play a few games of it with my last game playing as Orks. Spent the 1st Half bashing the Humans into the ground my opponent called the game at the beginning of the 2ns Half due to him only being to put 5 guys onto the field. Too bad, since I really want to see if I could have put them out of the game as well. |
Pedrobear | 21 Sep 2016 8:17 a.m. PST |
Re-release the game = Out to make a quick buck Don't re-release the game = Always killing off their best games Publish new material = Did not release a complete game the first time round Publish everything at once = Do not support the line Don't change the rules = Trying to make me pay for old stuff Change the rules = Making the rules I paid for obsolete |
Mithmee | 21 Sep 2016 8:31 p.m. PST |
Well they release Space Hulk for the 4th Edition back two years ago. Which was around five years after putting out the 3rd Edition. Thing is has there been anything else release for it since? Oh and those things only for IPAD do not count. Answer is no. |
