Those beehive-shaped bottle tops on Barenjager's honey liqueur? They paint up nicely as 25mm small huts for Darkest Africa natives, or fantasy races. Plus you have an excuse to drink more Barenjagers! Bee-hold: bee-fore --

How do you keep the coconut shells from attracting insects or rotting? |

My friend Lawrence got the half coconuts from a local pet store, where they were being sold as small rodent houses. I assume they have been treated in some way to stop deterioration, as they are still in pristine condition. I suspect you could use raw half coconuts if you baked them dry in an oven, or possibly by varnishing them? I don't know for sure though! The easy option is to buy them I think, they were sold very cheaply in batches of 3. |
