That's a great website and very well meaning, but the embarrassing truth is that both Sherman and Stuart were actually designed and manufactured in the US – albeit those Lend Lease versions had benefitted from British post combat input!

With the exception of the Valentine the Russians were actually pretty sniffy about British designed tanks, with good reason!

With the exception of the Sherman they were pretty sniffy about US built tanks too! Also with good reason. But beggars can't be choosers as the saying goes.
