Printing Scenario Maps with Poster Software

You've got a scenario map, and you need to create some hills. Is there some way to just print out the map in very large scale, so you can trace the outline of the hills you need to build? The Editor finds out...

Step 1: buy a thing on ebay.

Step 2: Make sure that on the day of delivery, I am home, no music on, so I can get the door when Fedex guy knocks.

Step 3: Check tracking, see it was delivered half an hour ago and left on front step.

Step 4: Think "that's weird, I am sitting 7 feet from the door and nobody knocked". go to look for item.

Step 5: Nowhere to be seen. Look under stairs and behind bush.

Step 6: Ask yard maintenance guys outside if they saw a fedex truck. Not a thing.

Step 7: Okay, either my package is stolen or it was never delivered.

Step 8: Call Fedex. Get told they are "looking into it".

Step 9: Wait wait wait. Fedex calls back and says they definitely delivered it. Ask why they didn't knock. get told the seller didn't request a signature. (which apparently means throw it somewhere at random).

Step 10: Contact seller through ebay to see if they can badger fedex. No response.

Step 11: Contact ebay to see if they can help. Explain problem very thoroughly. Get a response 2 minutes later saying that since tracking shows I received the item, they can't help. Thanks, that's the entire damn problem.

Step 12: Open missing item claim with fedex.

Step 13: Wait wait wait wait. While waiting, email seller directly through their business email. No response here either.

Step 14: get a letter in the mail from fedex saying that they will only do missing item files if the seller contacts them or gives them a written permission. The same seller that wont answer messages.

Step 15: Get drunk. File Paypal dispute. Swear to never use Fedex again.

Ask your neighbors. I receive packages for the guy 1 block down all the time (our addresses are one number off). Sometimes it takes me a day or two to notice depending on work.

I always have orders shipped to my office or some facility (like a private mail box) where someone is present during business hours to receive packages.

I am not even going to start about Fedex and UPS. Let's just say, if USPS is not a delivery option, I don't order.

I hate Fedex. I won't order things anymore if Fedex is my only option.

Amen Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut

If USPS is not an option, the whole thing is not an option. Further, I never use Ebay.

You forgot step 8.5, tell FedEx that the security cam on your porch doesn't show anyone coming up or even the FedEx truck going down the street around the time.

Whether you actually have such a cam or not is irrelevant. It's highly plausible.

FTR, I have more problems with USPS and packages that were "delivered" on XYZ day yet show up two days later after I complain and discuss the security cam on my porch (which is, in fact, real) with the USPS the next day.

No delivery services knock unless a signature is required, every second of the couriers time is monitored. So regardless how nice your neighbors are FedEx and even UPS says to them "this is something new I just bought", and can be incentive for someone with low ethical behavior to check it out.

I work for one of the delivery service mentioned and the best advice for shipping is: you can never over package, send it to a destination that is manned (mail room or business), insure the package, communicate between sender and recipient.

I havd been getting figures in regular mail if if fits it ships.

Hate to say this but FedEx and UPS offer a cheaper rate for delivery when no signiture is required. All they are obligated to do is leave the package at the door. They don't even have to ring the door bell or knock. I found this out from a UPS executive while negotiating a transportation contract.

Didn't realize this thread still got posted, since I thought it got hit by the bug. Thanks for the support though.
